The picture was taken on Italy/Austrian borders at 3200 m above sea level. Under the bow of Milky way is the third highest mountain of Austria: Weisskugel. Under the mountain, one of the largest glaciers of the East Alps, Hintereisferner is located. The weather was not so good in the Alps that days so I could capture only a few Meteors from Perseids meteor shower and one other Meteor which had the opposite way.
Picture shows more than 180° wide angle horizontally. The clouds did not move and were disappearing when I took the panorama so I was able to photograph the Milky way and some Meteors. The clouds have relatively natural color thanks to minimum light pollution. It is very rare in Europe. For example the higher clouds later that night were almost orange because they reflected the lights from far cities.
